All the hand drawn lovin' you'll need!
Nice! Love the touch of Hirschfeld as well. Thanks for the video below too and its awesome to see people getting excited.
Hey Matt, I just found this online and was wondering if you animated the hillbilly fight?http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9ybud_the-princess-and-the-frog-exclusive_shortfilms
HI David! No, I did not animate the Hillbill fight in the film. That was single handedly animated by Dale Baer. We always enjoyed what we called our "daily does of Dale violence" in dailies every morning! I m glad the film is getting pushed out there. Am hoping everyone goes to see it, multiple times!
Oh, thanks for clearing that up. I had never seen any of Dales rough animation before but I did know he drew pretty clean. I am definitely planning on going to see this movie multiple times! Is hand drawn back for this film or does it look like it'll be around the studio for a long time?
David: Well, I think Disney wants to keep doing 2D. They have a few things in mind, but I think the success of Frog weighs HEAVILY on not just the future of 2D at Disney but in the rest of the industry as well. So if we all want to see 2D continue not just at Disney but also begin to start see other studios get back into it, we need to go see this moving a CRAPLOAD of times!
Well, heres praying everything goes well. I hope everyone sees that hand drawn animation isn't a dead art form and will never die.
hey man i was just wondering if there was any chance of seeing the rest of that tutorial on how you plan a scene and follow it thought to completion. its really cool that people like you post this kind of information for students such as my self cause this level of animation isn't really taught any more except for in a couple of schools and any trick or piece of information that i can get i consider very valuable .it would be awesome if you could post some of that sort of stuff again. cheers dude for all the amazing art work and advice.
